Westward Look Resort Chef Ron Moler will prepare traditional Mexican food for a Cinco de Mayo celebration at
1:45 p.m., May 5, at Cholla High Magnet School, 2001 W. Star Pass Blvd., in the
cafeteria.
Chef Moler will prepare the cuisine at Cholla. The meal will include chicken ranchero, calabacitas, and caldo de queso, or potato cheese soup. Cholla's mariachi and folklorico groups will perform.
The event costs $10 per plate. All of the proceeds will benefit Cholla's Community Based Instruction program. CBI immerses special education students into the community to teach the students work and life skills. Students use public transportation, purchase goods and services, and interact with the public.
Chef Moler is volunteering his time for this event. In addition, Westward Look has donated tables, linens, glassware, dishes and silverware.
