Members of the Lambda Epsilon sorority will present students at Johnson Primary School, 6060 S. Joseph Ave., with homework kits at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 18, during the school’s open house for parents. The sorority members will visit each classroom to distribute the kits.

The 20 active members of Lambda Epsilon, a philanthropic sorority that supports the local community, purchased all the items and assembled the 350 kits so that each student at the Title I school would have his or her own supplies to complete assignments and projects at home. The kits contain pencils, paper, crayons, glue, scissors, as well as a gift certificate to Golf N’ Stuff, in a convenient carrying case labeled "My Homework Kit."

StrengthBuilding Partners, a nonprofit organization that provides services at the school, engaged the sorority members in this community service project.
