Students at Johnson Primary School, 6060 S. Joseph Ave., will show their patriotic spirit and rally support for recovery efforts in New York and Washington at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, in the school’s auditorium.

The entire school community will make a human flag of red, white and blue under a hand-made banner that reads "United We Stand," then students will go outside to tie red ribbons on the school’s perimeter fence. In addition, Principal Dea Salter will launch the school’s month-long fund-raising drive by dropping the first penny into a collection jar.
