Thanks to TUSD’s Mac Loan Program, scores of elementary school students will be able to borrow computers for an entire school year.

Sponsored by TUSD’s Technology and Telecommunications Services, the program offers a number of district elementary schools the opportunity to borrow Mac LCs removed from school computer labs and refurbished over the summer. A dot matrix printer is included with each computer along with software geared for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Training will be provided to both parents and students through TUSD’s Educational Technology department.

The following elementary schools have loaned out computers to their students: Borman, Erickson, Grijalva, Hudlow, Richey, Ft. Lowell, Carrillo, Drachman, Rose, Miller, and Ochoa. A total of 60 computers have been loaned out. The program will continue next year with additional computers.
