The Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association, also known as TAAA, will teach community members about the night sky at an event titled “Pie and the Sky” at
7:30 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Cragin Elementary, 2945 N. Tucson
Blvd., near the ramada on the west side of the school.
Four telescopes will be open for viewings, with TAAA members pointing out the planet Mars, the Great Square, and the Andromeda Galaxy, the farthest entity in the sky that a person can see with the naked eye. They will also be at Booth-Fickett Math-Science Magnet School at 7 p.m., Oct. 28, on the west side of the school.
The TAAA is a local group of astronomers, amateur to professional, who regularly share their knowledge with Tucson-area students. Free hot cocoa and pie will be available to all who attend.
