Students at Fort Lowell Elementary School, 5151 E. Pima St., will explore their future career options at the school’s Career Day, to be held from 9-10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Speakers — mostly parents or relatives of Fort Lowell students — will represent careers ranging from pastry chef to construction worker and will include: Kathleen Quigley, Pima County Attorney’s Office; Amy Stohldrier, travel agent; Geri Ortiz, Tucson Police Department; and Mark Pirtle, physical therapist. Mimi’s Restaurant will provide refreshments for speakers.

"We’re very proud that our parents and surrounding community have taken such an interest in our students’ understanding of the world of work and how school relates to future careers," says Sheila Govern, curriculum specialist at Fort Lowell Elementary School.
