Seeking Green Bins for Classroom Recycling

Eastside residents who have new blue barrels for curbside recycling may
donate their old green recycling bins to TUSD schools for classroom recycling.
Students and staff in TUSD will use the bins to participate in Tucson
Recycles, the citys new commingled recycling program. Residents are asked to take
their 18-gallon green bins that are in good condition to any of the following schools
during the week of October 28 November 1:
Elementary Schools: Bloom, Dunham, Gale, Henry, Lyons, Marshall,
Reynolds, Soleng Tom, Wright, and Wrightstown.
Middle Schools: Carson and Secrist.
High Schools: Sahuaro and Santa Rita.
Green recycling bins for schools can also be dropped off from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m., Monday through Friday at the following City Council Offices:
Ward 2: 7575 E. Speedway
Ward 4: 8123 E. Poinciana Drive
Classroom recycling is part of a new commingled recycling education
project in TUSD schools partly funded by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.
Partners in the project include the City of Tucson Solid Waste Management Department, the
Environmental Education Exchange, the University of Arizona Garbage Project, and Recycle
America Waste Management Inc.
