TUSD and Tucson LINKS Sponsor Conference

School personnel, families, and community members will learn how to promote healthy youth development at the “Schools and Families Together for Students Success” conference from
8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 at Catalina High Magnet School, 3645 E. Pima St.
The objective of the conference is to strengthen partnerships for student and family success. A keynote address “Funds of Knowledge: Hidden Family Resources” will be given by Luis Moll, associate dean of the University of Arizona’s College of Education. Breakout sessions will focus on evidenced-based family school programs, families supporting learning, building family-school partnerships, and utilizing the resource of diversity.
Lunch will be provided for those who register by Nov. 2. For registration information please visit the TUSD website at
www.tusd.k12.az.us. Cost of the conference ranges from $10 to $15 per person. The Metropolitan Education Commission and Tucson Resiliency Initiative are also sponsoring the event.
