Monday, Nov. 5: Janet K. Miller, a self-taught artist, will share her experiences
with dyslexia and her work in "reverse glass painting" with freshmen art/mentors
from 9:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. She will return to teach the technique to advanced art students
from 1-1:50 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 and Nov. 16.
Miller lived and worked in West Africa in the early 1980s and first encountered reverse
glass painting in Senegal. She later found her dyslexia to be an asset in recreating the
technique, which requires the artist to work inside out and backwards.
