TUSD Schools Now Accepting Online Credit Card Tax Credit Donations

TUSD has now made it more convenient for tax credit donors to contribute to schools through its new secure online credit card payment site, which went live Nov. 1. 

TUSD’s Arizona Tax Credit site gives potential donors the option of contributing to one or more of TUSD’s 106 schools by using their Discover, Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit cards. The credit card site can be accessed at: https://tusdstats.tusd.k12.az.us/planning/cis/taxcredit/form.asp 

Tax credit contributors also have the option of selecting various activities associated with any of the schools including fine arts, sports, or a designated activity of the donor’s choice. Once payment has been accepted, donors can print a receipt page for their records directly from the website. Receipts will also be emailed to those who provide an email address.

Various district departments including TUSD’s Department of Technology and Telecommunication Services, Accountability and Research and Financial Services worked with Authorize.net and Wells Fargo to set up the online credit card site. The project took a little over a month to develop and implement at no extra cost to the district

Last year, TUSD schools received about $2 million in tax credit donations, which helped fund a range of activities such as field trips, after school programs, tutoring, arts and music education and after school sports. Donors sent their checks to individual schools and schools manually generated receipts. The district anticipates that the added convenience of online credit card payments will help increase donation amounts. Phoenix-area’s Mesa Public School District currently uses a credit card payment system and has reported increases in its tax credit donation amounts.
