Two TUSD Teachers Named State Science Teachers of the Year

Kathleen Krucker, a science teacher at Palo Verde High Magnet School, 1302 S. Avenida Vega, recently was named the Arizona High School Science Teacher of the Year by the Arizona Science Teachers Association (ASTA).

Kathryn Lloyd, a resource teacher at TUSD’s Cooper Environmental Resource Center, was named the Arizona Elementary School Science Teacher of the Year.

Each teacher received a check in the amount of $100 to support her classroom work.

The annual peer-recognition awards are presented by ASTA, the state chapter of the National Science Teacher’s Association, to honor excellence in science teaching throughout the state at the elementary, middle and high school levels. This year’s awards ceremony was held Oct. 19 in Phoenix.
