Moriah Cheek, senior at Cholla Magnet High School, 2001 W. Star Pass Blvd., participated in the National Youth Leadership Forum for Defense, Intelligence and Diplomacy Oct. 21 through 26, in Washington, D.C.

The National Youth Leadership Forum for Defense, Intelligence and Diplomacy draws together high school juniors and seniors from around the country who show academic and leadership promise and an interest in defense, intelligence and diplomacy. Students are nominated through educators, alumni of the program, and pre-college surveys. During the six-day program attendees are introduced to stimulating careers in these fields through seminars, group discussions, debates, and reality-based role-play strategy exercises.

Moriah plans to use her experience to attend the University of Arizona as a member of the school’s ROTC program. She plans on attending law school and beginning a career in the U.S. military’s Judge Advocate General’s program.
