TUSD’s Bright Ideas Committee is seeking input from parents about ways TUSD can save money while also providing a quality education at a brainstorming session to be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 16 at the
Technology and Telecommunications Services training lab in the basement floor of TUSD Morrow Education Center, 1010 E. 10th St.
Participants are invited to share their ideas on how the district can save money, increase revenue and best use district resources. In addition, parents will have access to the lab’s computers to document their suggestions. All interested parents should contact Bright Ideas facilitator, Suzanne McFarlin at
suzannemcfarlin@msn.com
or call 955-3504 to register for the event.
Last June, the Bright Ideas Committee hosted a student brainstorming session which resulted in over 200 ideas on how to improve TUSD. Some of those ideas, such as using communicating electronically with staff to reduce paper usage, are being considered for possible implementation.
The committee began in February 2005 as a community input program to review cost-savings measures and revenue enhancement for the district. Achieving immediate popularity, Bright Ideas received over 2,000 suggestions last spring and was responsible for over $2.1 million in savings and increased revenue.
