Tucson Unified School District is seeking input regarding its school calendar and
holidays. Deadline for comments is Dec. 7.
The districts calendar committee, made up of parents, community members, students
and educators, is developing the TUSD calendar for the next three to five years. With
voter passage of Proposition 301, districts are required to add an extra school day to
their calendars for the next five years. This year, TUSD added an extra school day and
will continue to do so for the next four years.
Surveys in English and Spanish are available at local schools, the Communications
Department and on line at: www.tusd.k12.az.us/contents/news/calsurvey.html.
Surveys maybe submitted to TUSDs Central Services office through the following ways:
- Mail to Central Services, 1010 E. Tenth St., Tucson AZ 85719
- Fax to (520) 225-6170
- Email as an attachment to Lorrane McPherson, Assistant Superintendent of Central
Services, at lorrane.mcpherson@tusd.k12.az.us.
The Communications Department can be reached at 225-6437. Changes in the school
calendar will be announced at an upcoming Governing Board meeting.
