Utterback Student Wins Ice Cream Party for School

Thirty-five students at Utterback Magnet Middle School, 3233 S. Pinal, will be treated to an ice cream party thanks to their school mate Adriana Gonzalez who was selected as a winner of an essay contest sponsored by Dreyers Grand Ice Cream. The party will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 18 at the school.

Adriana was one of five winners in Arizona who competed in the "Why my class and I would love to have a new computer from Dreyer's Presents M&M Mars and Albertsons." The school will also receive a $3,000 Dell computer as part of Adriana's award. The computer will be presented at the party.

The contest required that students keep the essay to 250 words or less and include at least two examples of how the class could use a computer. Essays were judged based on the following qualities: enthusiasm, creativity and originality.
