More Than 100 to Graduate in TUSD Winter

Approximately 135 graduates are expected to celebrate to the tune of
"Pomp and Circumstance" during the 2001 TUSD Winter Graduation
Ceremony, to be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Tucson
High Magnet School auditorium, 400 N. Second Ave.
Dressed in a rainbow of brightly colored gowns signifying their home
schools, graduates will represent Catalina Magnet, Cholla Magnet, Palo
Verde Magnet, Pueblo Magnet, Rincon, Sabino, Sahuaro, Santa Rita and
Tucson Magnet high schools. Students from several TUSD alternative
education programs, including ArtWORKS Academy, Aztec Middle College,
Downtown Alternative High School and Project MORE, also will receive their
diplomas.
TUSD Superintendent Stan Paz, members of the Governing Board and
administrators from each participating school will be on hand for the
ceremony. Arizona Symphonic Winds will provide the musical accompaniment.
The eighth annual winter commencement exercises are sponsored by the
Department of Summer Enrichment and Academic Success (SEAS).
