Grijalva Elementary is a K-5 school with a bilingual strand offered at each grade level. Our community promotes the success of all students by supporting each child's academic, emotional and social success; defining and communicating expectations; modeling and acknowledging positive behaviors; and respecting all learners.
Megan Chavez Megan Chavez
Megan Chavez has been an educator in Tucson Unified School District for 18 years. Prior to coming into education, she worked in behavior health serving as a caregiver for children who had been abandoned and abused. During her time in Tucson Unified, she has served as a Classroom Teacher, Resource Teacher for the Gifted and Talented Department, New Teacher Mentor, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Mrs. Chavez is devoted to bringing research-based practices to the classroom to ensure all students and staff feel connected and welcome at school. Mrs. Chavez is the proud mom to three children, Raymond Jr., 28, Marcus, 22, and newly adopted daughter Emma, 9. In her free time she enjoys learning about the brain, reading, and making memories with family and friends.
