TUSD Summer Meal Program starts May 26

Message from TUSD Food Services

Our summer meals program will start Tuesday, May 26 which will be a revised version of the current Grab & Go meals we have been running during the school closure. < Click here for the new schedule. > Free meals for all children 18 & under will continue. There will be 6 bus routes by region with 77 stops total (there are 6 routes since Silverbell region has 2 routes). The meal bus routes will run earlier from 8am-12:00pm (to avoid the hotter times of the afternoon) and will provide both breakfast and lunch. The lunch entree will be provided cold/frozen to be heated up at home (microwave and oven heating instructions will be provided).

Summer meal plans for July will be determined based on whether USDA/ADE extends the non-congregate feeding waiver currently in place through June 30 which allows meals to be taken home.

Students can access lessons from homeFYI - All of Hudlow Elementary 2nd - 5th grade students now have active IXL licenses. This means that they have access to ELA and Math curriculum online. They can access it through Clever. All of their teachers also have IXL licenses, which means they will soon be panning lessons and creating  assignments. Teachers are capable of monitoring student logging in and their growth.

Here are the directions for logging in:

TUSD Library Books - Not to Worry

We hope you are doing well and we want you know that if you have any library material or textbooks checked out during the school closures, they may start showing as lost fines in your InTouch account.  The library/textbook catalog system has no way to globally extend the checkout period beyond the school closures.  DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT.  Fines will disappear off your accounts once school resumes and the books are checked in.

What Makes Us Special

 Hudlow Grounds

Our very own Hudlow Hawks are the proud winner of the Dr. Trujillo District Attendance Challenge.  We received this award on November 12, 2019 at the Governing Board meeting.  Our student attendance increased over three percent, which is more than three times as much as other schools.  Thank you for all your support and making sure that your children are here every day and on time.  We could not have won this award without your support!

We are also proud to announce that Hudlow has officially received the letter grade of B for this year.  Teachers, staff, students and parents put in a lot of hard work last year to demonstrate their academic growth.  We hope to continue this progress for this school year.  As you know, its takes a village to achieve this accomplishment.  Every day counts, please continue to send your son/daughter to school every day in order to support our teachers and your children.

Hudlow offers many interesting programs for our students!

·         Core academics for Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies

·         Physical Education twice a week with our Enrichment Teacher

·         Be Kind Class Lessons with our counselor once a week with a supporting PBIS program

·         Reading Intervention for all grade levels

Students are encouraged to work collaboratively every day in class. When teachers ask questions, children know to turn to each other to find the answers. Teachers also work together, sharing student test scores, strengths and areas needing improvement. Hudlow teaches at the individual level to ensure that all students get what they need.

We are always asking ourselves, “What is the best I can be?” and “Is this quality work?”
