What is GATE?

Doolen GATE is a self-contained middle school program offering creative and student-centered project based learning. 

 

Shadow Days for Elementary GATE Students

  • Shadow Day - Dec. 10th
    Shadow Day for 5th grade students who qualify for GATE at Doolen Middle School and have not had the opportunity to attend one of our other Shadow Day events. The day will start at 8:30am, with our "shadow" students meeting their host students. Parents will participate in a tour of the school and question/answer session conducted by Ms. McConaughy and Ms. Coulter. Students will attend classes with their hosts all day and can be picked up by 3:15pm. Please email Ms. Coulter (carmen.coulter@tusd1.org) for more information or to register!

  • GATE Open House - Feb. 4th
    Doolen will host a GATE Open House for all 5th grade students interested in attending the Doolen GATE program for the 2020-2021 school year. We will have information about the Doolen GATE program, as well as information on how to get signed up for the Summer Transition Program and Shadow Days. Please contact Ms. Coulter (carmen.coulter@tusd1.org) or Ms. McConaughy (christa.mcconaughy@tusd1.org) for more information.

Announcements & Reminders

  • Local Field Trips
    6th Graders - Old Pueblo  field trip is Thursday, Dec. 12th and Friday, Dec. 13th. Please make sure permission slips are submitted by Tuesday, Dec. 10th. We need 4-5 chaperones each day, so please email Ms. Coulter (carmen.coulter@tusd1.org) to volunteer. Students should wear uniforms and make sure they have shoes that can get dirty. Students will need to bring a sack lunch with them on the field trip.

Fundraising Events

  • Panda Express Fundraiser - Wed., Dec. 18th
    Join us for a fundraiser at Panda Express on Campbell and Glenn! The fundraiser will take place from 10:30am - 10:00pm. All you need to do is mention the fundraiser or show them the flyer to make sure we get credit! We look forward to seeing you there! 

       

  • Chipotle Fundraiser - Tues., Jan. 21st
    Come join us for a fundraising night at Chipotle on Campbell between Glenn and Ft. Lowell. The fundraiser will last from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Please mention the fundraiser or show the flyer at checkout so we receive credit! We look forward to seeing you there!

       

  • Tax Credit Donation
    Click on the title above for more information on how to make a tax credit donation through TUSD to the GATE 8 End-of-Year field trip. This can be a payment for current 8th grade students for their end-of-year trip or from families and friends of Doolen GATE who wish to help make the end-of-year trip possible for our 8th graders.   • Donation to Booster Club
