Art Integration In and Out of Visual and Performing Art Classes

The Fine Arts program at Holladay is an active and integral part of each child’s school day at Holladay, as they learn the Fine Arts curriculum outlined by the district, state, and nation. All students are exposed to the Visual and Performing Arts throughout the school year on a weekly and sometimes daily basis.

In the Performing Arts, students experience music, dance, and drama. They learn basic music, drama, and dance elements and they learn how to play the piano keyboard in our piano keyboard lab- the only one of its kind in TUSD. Our school also gives young performers many opportunities to appear on stage. Every year each grade level presents a musical production in which students sing, dance, and act.

Holladay continually showcases students in the performing arts. Our chorus and dance teams rehearse after school four days a week and perform all year long at our school as well as other events around Tucson. Instrumental music instruction further enhances our students’ intellectual growth and student soloists often perform at special events.

The Visual Arts play an important role in our daily curriculum and in all the productions as students help to create needed scenery, props, and costumes. Students get to have their own artwork displayed during the year in our art gallery as well as throughout the community.
