How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Literacy Objectives: Students will be able to:

  • explain how structure comes together for a purpose in a text
  • describe how a narrator’s or speaker’s point of view influences how events are described
  • compare and contrast two or more characters, settings, or events in a text
  • explain the relationships or interactions between two or more individuals, events, ideas, or concepts in a text
  • write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information

Lee y responde (lectura y escritura) Lee un libro por 20 minutes y responde en un diario. Escribe un resumen, una conexión o cualquier otra cosa que le intereso.
¿Que opinas? Piensa en una cosa que tu, como niño quisieras poder hacer (comer dulce cuando quieras, jugar juegos de video cuando quieras, determinar tu propia hora de dormir) y escribe un ensayo para explicar lo que tu piensas.

Screen-free activities
Read and respond. Read for 20 minutes and respond in a journal. Write a summary, a connection or anything else that surprised you about what you read.
What do you think? Think about something you would like to be able to do as a child. Maybe eat candy when you want, determine your bedtime or play video games whenever you want. Write an essay explaining your opinion.
