We provide data support and statistical analysis to improve student educational outcomes for all schools in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD).
Our three primary responsibilities include:
- Oversight and administration of state/district assessments to guide instruction
- Provide professional development and training to increase data literacy and data-driven decision-making among:
- site-level staff
- administrators
- district leadership
- Evaluate educational programs to examine effectiveness and increase transparency
We monitor and report upon the progress of district initiatives by evaluating student achievement data, student enrollment data, survey data, teacher evaluation data, principal evaluation data and other data.
Additionally, we:
- Educate district stakeholders on state accountability requirements
- Provide direct support to District Administration, Schools, and other TUSD Departments
- Oversee the University High School admissions process
- Review all external data requests
- Produce a variety of customized data dashboards for accessible data reporting
The Assessment & Evaluation Department (A&E) is housed under the leadership of the Curriculum and Instruction Department and works closely with the Curriculum Development and Professional Development teams.
