How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Actividades fuera de línea  

Observa afuera. Desde el patio de tu casa, observa las plantas y animales. Haz un dibujo detallado de tu alrededor. Escribe como los animales y plantas interactúan y como se ayudan uno al otro.

Investigue especies invasoras en su zona (ejemplo bufflegrass)Averigüen que están haciendo las organizaciones de vida silvestre o grupos conservacionistas locales para reducir los efectos de las especies invasoras.

Offline activities 

Go outside. Observe the plants and animals in your yard. Draw a detailed picture and write about what you see. Write about how everything works together and how they help each other. 

Investigate invasive species in our area (example: buffelgrass). Find out what wildlife experts or conservation organizations are doing to reduce the effects of this species.

 

Vocabulary/vocabulario 

Ecosystem: a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment.

Ecosistema: una comunidad biológica de organismos que interactúan con su medioambiente física.

 

Biome: a large naturally occurring community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat, e.g. forest or tundra.

Bioma: una comunidad que ocurre naturalmente que consiste de fauna y flora y ocupa un hábitat, por ejemplo el bosque o tundra.
