Tucson High Junior Places 2nd at 2026 Marshall-Brennan National Moot Court Competition
Congratulations to Chelsea Bolding, a junior at Tucson Magnet High School, for winning 2nd Place as a finalist in the 2026 Marshall–Brennan National Moot Court Competition, held Saturday, March 7, at the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. Competing against 44 students from across the nation, Chelsea distinguished herself through poised courtroom presence, sharp constitutional reasoning, and the ability to respond thoughtfully and confidently to challenging questions from judges. In the final rounds, Chelsea argued as petitioner in a Fourth Amendment search and seizure case, advocating for constitutional protections while responding to rigorous questioning from the bench.
This achievement grew out of a class project in Deborah Dimmett’s AP English Language and Composition course, where students studied constitutional law and prepared legal arguments as part of their work with the Marshall–Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. The project was fully sponsored by the Snell & Wilmer Law Firm, whose support made this opportunity possible. We are especially grateful for the outstanding coaching of Ray English, an attorney affiliated with the firm, who made weekly trips from Phoenix to work with students and help them refine their legal arguments. Chelsea’s success reflects not only her remarkable dedication and skill, but also the collaborative effort that helped prepare her to stand out among the nation’s top young advocates.
