Your Commitment

Continue to teach for TUSD in Exceptional Education for two years after earning your Arizona Standard Special Education certificate.

Criteria

  • Have at least a bachelor's degree and be a current TUSD employee
  • Submit complete application by deadline: 4:45 p.m. on December 15, 2017 (HR/Attn: Andrew Campbell and Martha Peyton)
  • Pass the March NES-601 Special Education exam
  • Enroll in an state-approved Intern Pathway Program in Special Education
  • Obtain an Arizona Teaching Intern Certificate: Special Education
  • Accept an Exceptional Education teaching position beginning in the school year 2018-2019
  • Sign commitment agreement
  • Attend quarterly support sessions

Support

  • Study Group for NES-601 Special Education Exam (TBD)
  • Hard-to-fill hiring incentive of $2500
  • Tuition Reimbursement: not to exceed $5000 over the course of two years, nor exceed $5000 per individual per lifetime.
  • Participation in the TUSD Mentor Program
