Miles offers a vibrant community of learners.
Students with hearing problems are co-enrolled in all grade levels.
We have many outdoor learning areas, including a school garden.
It will be open in the morning before school around 8:30.
At elementary dismissal time, only students with a parent or money to purchase items may come in during the 3:10-4:10 time slot.
I have a Middle school class in the library from 3:05 - 4:10, so all customers must be quiet and respectful of the learning that is going on at that time.
We will be open after Middle School dismissal for about 30 minutes: 4:10 - 4:40. We will be open on Tuesday evening January 29th from 6:00-8:00.
It will be open everyday during school hours. Students will come with their classes and at other times when teachers allow.
Please feel free to come in at any time to purchase books. Miles students that attend Curriculum Night may put their name in for a drawing to win $25.00 worth of merchandise.
The name will be drawn on Wed. Jan. 30th. The student must be in school that day to win.
Forms of payment: cash and checks made out to Miles ELC
WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL!
Miles takes a collaborative approach to education, involving parents, faculty and the community in decisions about the school. Students also work together in the classroom. Multi-age, multi-level classrooms allow students to stay in the same room for two to three years. This helps them build confidence and enables teachers to offer more challenging material as children progress. Students with hearing problems are co-enrolled in all grade levels.
The goal at Miles is to create a community of learners. Reading, writing and math skills are developed through hands-on activities and inquiry-based instruction, and programs such as fine arts and the school’s Green Project enhance the school’s curriculum.
All students at Miles come through open enrollment.
