What Makes Us Special

Carrillo K-5 Communication and Creative Art Magnet School is a highly-performing, “Α+“- rated school, located in the heart of downtown Tucson. The school’s magnet school theme is Communication & Creative Arts and is designed to teach students 21st Century skills in arts-integrated thematic units. Instruction is rigorous, and students learn important foundational skills as they participate in relevant Project Based Learning units. Teachers have high expectations for student mastery of the Arizona College and Career Ready Standards.

Carrillo students enjoy field trips to Tucson museums, farms, historic sites, the Desert Museum and our local University of Arizona Campus. Neighborhood traditions, like the Las Posadas events, El Presidio field trips and the annual Luau, are all an important part of our culture. We are a Ben's Bells Kind Campus and strive to ensure that everyone that walks through our doors feel like they are part of the Carrillo family. Please call us to schedule a tour today!

Carrillo Magnet Elementary school has been awarded The A+ School of Excellence award by the Arizona Educational foundation. The whole school turned out to celebrate in style.

A Message from Our Library

We hope you are doing well and we want you know that if you have any library material or textbooks checked out during the school closures, they may start showing as lost fines in your InTouch account. The library/textbook catalog system has no way to globally extend the checkout period beyond the school closures. DO NOT WORRY. Fines will disappear off your accounts once school resumes and the books are checked in.
