College graduates and career-changers: Do you want to become a teacher?

This an information session with Diana Turk, the head of teacher education at NYU Steinhardt, presented an overview of our new partnership to attract and retain great teachers for Tucson Unified School District.  

  • Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of Tucson's students?
  • Do you have a friend or family member wants to become a teacher?

Starting this summer, Tucson Unified will be hosting an innovative teacher preparation program in partnership with NYU Steinhardt called the Embedded Master of Arts in Teaching (EMAT).

Participants can earn a Master's degree in teaching in just one year, while being paid to learn to teach in Tucson Unified School District. We are looking for talented and committed college graduates or career changers to make a difference for the middle and high school students in Tucson Unified.
