Welcome Letter
Dear Students, Parents and Community Members,
As the principal of Catalina Magnet High School, I would like to welcome you back to the 2004/2005 school year; a year that will surely be one of the most exciting and challenging that CMHS has ever experienced.
During the last few years, the CMHS community has worked together to develop a new framework for school improvement and student achievement. Together we have established new programs and courses, a new attitude, achieved consistent implementation of identified common values and a renewed commitment of success for each and every student. The School Council continues as the driving force with our school improvement efforts. Our school is recognized as a positive and safe academic setting to learn and work in.
During the 2004/05 school year, we will continue to focus our efforts on achieving the BOLD GAME! Measures, as set forth by the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board and Superintendent.
* Every student exceeds all expected performance standards * Every student graduates and is able to compete and succeed in a global society * No student is left behind
At Catalina our number one priority is student acfhievement. To ensure that all students meet their potential we will be offering several new opportunities to our Trojan students.
1. Tutoring is available every Wednesday in the Cafeteria from 1:30-3:30. AP and Honors Students will be available for help in Math and English.
2. AIMS Weekend Academies will be held in February and March to assist students in preparing for the AIMS test. Further details will be forthcoming.
I am excited about the new school year. The faculty and staff at Catalina stands ready to assist you in any way. GO TROJANS !!!
Respectfully
Dan Bailey Principal
