The Tucson Unified School District hosted its annual Arizona Seal of Biliteracy Award Ceremony on May 18. The event formally recognized a distinguished group of high school seniors who have achieved high-level proficiency in English plus at least one additional world language, celebrating their dedication to language acquisition and cultural literacy.

The Arizona Seal of Biliteracy is a prestigious state-recognized program exclusively offered to public school students. To earn this distinction, students must meet rigorous academic criteria, including passing state ELA assessments, maintaining a strong GPA, and demonstrating advanced proficiency on verified world language examinations. As a permanent testament to their hard work, the official Arizona Seal of Biliteracy is placed directly on the students' high school diplomas, and the achievement is formally noted on their official academic transcripts.
