Online Instruction Begins for All Students on August 10, 2020

Due to uncertainty regarding resuming instruction on our school campuses during the pandemic, combined with the importance of creating a stable educational environment for our families and staff, Tucson Unified has determined that we will begin instruction for all students via Remote Learning on Monday, August 10, 2020. We will then transition those interested in an on-campus learning experience when it is deemed safe.

Although starting this school year remotely is not ideal, we are committed to offering every child quality and rigorous curriculum, five days a week, from our highly qualified teachers. Instruction will be conducted utilizing teacher Zoom lessons, as well as some recorded lessons and offline homework.

Classes will be consistent with real-time classroom instruction and will utilize approved online programs with assessment tools.

Your Two Options Once On-campus Learning is Deemed Safe

In order to help us accurately plan for when it is safe to return to the classroom, we are requesting you reserve your space in one of our two learning options:

  • Classroom Learning: On-campus learning experience at your child's school, facilitated by one of our teachers
  • Remote Learning: Teacher facilitated and supported instruction from your home

You can choose which learning option is best for each child in your household. Please note that you can change your selected learning option until August 1, 2020. Once school gets underway, you will be able to transition your child from one learning option to another, if desired, at defined intervals.

Review these two options below, and when you're ready to make your choice, reserve your space through online registration for your school.

If you have already registered for the 2020-2021 school year, please go through registration again so that you can make your choice for Classroom Learning or Remote Learning. If all the information you entered previously is still correct, simply click through until you get to the page to make your choice. You can also change any information (such as your address) at this time, if needed.
