Your Commitment

You will be committed for a total of four years as you teach in a Dual Language classroom.

  • Teach for two years with a Provisional Bilingual Endorsement, while you earn your full Bilingual Endorsement.
  • Teach an additional two years in a Dual Language classroom with your full Bilingual Endorsement.

Criteria

  • Be a current TUSD Certified Teacher who does not have a Spanish Bilingual Endorsement and not currently in a Dual Language Classroom.
  • Submit complete application by deadline: 4:45 p.m. on March 20, 2020 (HR/Attn: Andrew Campbell and Martha Edwards)
  • Pass the Spanish Proficiency Exam and obtain the Provisional Spanish Bilingual Endorsement on your Teaching Certificate
  • Accept a Dual Language teaching position beginning in the 2020-2021 school year
  • Sign the commitment agreement
  • Attend Dual Language professional development trainings

Support

  • Applicants will receive an annual $5000 stipend for teaching in a TWDL classroom.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: not to exceed $5000 over the course of two years, nor exceed $5000 per individual per lifetime.
  • Participation in the TUSD Mentor Program
  • Dual Language professional development trainings
