Solution Tree, a professional development company that works to transform education worldwide by empowering educators to raise student achievement, created the PLC process. Blenman is one of 18 schools in the state of Arizona and the first in both Pima County and Southern Arizona to have been named a DuFour and Eaker Awardee.
In order to reach Model PLC status, a school must demonstrate a commitment to the PLC at Work process; implement the concepts for at least three years; present clear evidence of improved student learning (three years sustained); explain the culture, practices, and structures of the school or district and submit it for consideration to the PLC Review Committee using the Solution Tree online submission process; and update school or district information and submit it for review, through the website, every three years to show your data continues to meet the criteria of the PLC at Work process.
Through the process, Solution Tree found that Blenman underwent a “profound transformation” that “fundamentally [improved] academic achievement, student behavior, and staff collaboration.”
Blenman is “committed to ensuring that every student achieves their highest potential’ and is a “testament to our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and excellence,” according to a statement from Solution Tree.
