How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Literacy Objectives: Students will be able to:

  • identify the topic or main idea and key details from a story.
  • retell and write a story using sequencing words to show a beginning, middle, and end.
  • use the verbs am, is or are and the verbs has and have correctly in a complete sentence.

Reading

Then, in your Reach student book pages 191-193 read the fact sheet, Money, by Heather Langer. Use the pictures to tell someone what you learned.

Writing
Complete the activity sheet, A Delivery Story. Follow the directions on the page. Below are sentences that may help when you write about each picture.

First, the factory _________.
Then, the delivery truck ______________.
Next, the cars _________.
Finally, the seller _____ the car to the ________.

Listening and Speaking
Song: Click here to listen to the song, Shopping Together. The girl goes to an office store to buy markers and pens. After you listen to the song, think about who you go shopping with and two thing you want or need from the store.

Say: I like to go shopping with ________.
We need/ want to get _______ and _________.

Grammar

Complete Practice Book 3.12 . If you cannot print the sheet, rewrite sentence number 1, 3, 5 and 6 using the correct to be verb (is, am or are).

Complete Practice Book 3.14. Follow the directions and please write your sentences on a sheet of paper.
