How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Literacy Objectives: Students will be able to:

  • identify the topic or main idea and key details from a story.
  • respond to a story by writing a at least two sentences to show how it connects to me.
  • use a present tense action verb (ex. jump, jumps) correctly in a complete sentence.

Read the poem "Delivery" by Anastasi Suen on pages 167-185. To listen to the story, click on the speaker icon found on each page next to the words. Use the pictures to help you retell the story to someone.

Read “Delivery”, again. Complete Practice Book 3.16. Then, pick one of the delivery vehicles form your web, and write about what kinds of goods it delivers to the stores or people. Use the sentences below to help you. Practice saying your story. Then, write your story. After your write your story, read it to yourself and to someone in your family. Draw and color a picture of your vehicle.

Listening and Speaking
