Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help you practice and master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another.

Key Vocabulary / Formulas/ Things to Remember

Area - the number of square units that fill a geometric figure.

Base - The geometric figure that distinguishes the prism or pyramid.

Cone – a solid figure with a circle for a base and a lateral surface that is curved with a vertex or apex. 

Cross Section – the two-dimensional shape created by slicing a solid figure. 

Height - The distance from one base of the solid to the other.

Net of a solid – The connected two-dimensional shapes that would fold to create the exterior of a three dimensional solid.

Pyramid – a polyhedron with a polygon base and all lateral faces triangles with a common vertex. 

Sphere – A solid figure created by the collection of points equidistant from a center point.
