How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Earthquake Lists, Maps and Statistics

Earthquake Hazards

Students can research current data for their state to see if earthquake norms are increasing or decreasing. Read the information concerning earthquakes and earthquakes in Arizona. Collect 10-15 facts from your readings: 1. Write a paragraph explaining what an earthquake is. 2.  Write a paragraph explaining how earthquakes occur. 3.  Draw a dark circle on a Arizona map at least 5-7 places that have had earthquakes with a colored marker, pencil, or crayon. Use the TOPO map

Continue observing your seed ball and temperature and record your data on the data sheet.
