How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Using recyclable materials found at home, create something special with a new purpose. Have your parents take a picture of you with your new creation and share it with your teacher/class.

Renewable resource – Natural resources that cannot be used up, such as air, water, soil, plants, and animals.

Recurso renovable-Un recurso natural que se puede restaurar por procesos naturales

Nonrenewable resource – Natural resources that cannot be replaced after they are used, such as Rock, minerals, metals, and fissile fuels.
Recurso no renovable- Recursos naturales que no puede ser producido, regenerado o reutilizado a una escala tal que pueda sostener su tasa de consumo.

Conserve – Not use up, spoil, or waste things.

Conservar- para evitar o ralentizar su deterioro

Region- different places that are grouped together because they share something in common 

región- un grupo de lugares que están agrupados por algo que tienen en común.  

Location- (absolute) an exact place; an address, longitude and latitude coordinates 

(relative) a place described by its proximity to another place 

ubicación absoluta- un lugar exacto. por ejemplo, una dirección, coordenadas de longitud y latitud. 

ubicación relativa- un lugar que se describe por la proximidad a otro lugar.  

Human/Environment Interaction- How people depend on, adapt to, and modify the environment and how the environment affects people. 

la interacción entre hombre y medio ambiente- como la gente depende en, se adapta y modifica el medio ambiente y como el medio ambiente afecta a la gente.  

Movement- How people, goods and ideas move from place to place 

movimiento- como la gente, bienes y servicios, e ideas se mueven de un lugar a otro.
