How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Oral Language
Listen to one of the videos from the Sonoran Desert Museum and tell a friend or family member what the video was about. Listen to the video more than once, if needed and use the Language Frames to help summarize the video.

Choose at least 5 vocabulary words and add vocabulary definitions to your My Vocabulary Notebook from the myngconnect.com website.

Song – sing the “Hawk and the Squirrel” song on book page 152. Go to http://www.myngconnect.com and click on Resources > Unit 3 > Sing with Me > The Hawk and the Squirrel.

Use the Rubric from Practice book 3.21 to organize the Interview Article you wrote in week 2.
Edit and Revise the Interview Article you wrote from Week 2 using Practice book 3.22.
Learn to edit and proofread – Use Practice book 3.24 to complete the handout.
