How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Literacy Objectives:With prompting and support, students will be able to:

  • retell stories and informational text, and identify main ideas and topics, along with key details.
  • compare and contrast the adventures and experiences of characters in familiar stories.
  • identify basic similarities in and differences between two texts on the same topic.
  • read common high frequency words by sight from a word list.
  • write opinion pieces in which the topic is introduced or name the book, state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion, and provide some closure.

Objetivos de literatura:Los estudiantes podrán:

  • comparar y contrastar las aventuras y experiencias de personajes en historias familiares.
  • identificar similitudes básicas y diferencias entre dos textos sobre el mismo tema .
  • usar una combinación de dibujos, dictado, y escritura para redactar textos de opinión en las que le dicen a un lector cual es el tema o el nombre del libro sobre el que están escribiendo y expresan su opinión o preferencia sobre el tema o el libro. (por ejemplo: Mi libro favorito es…).
  • leer a simple vista palabras comunes de uso frecuente.
