How to Use This Page

This page contains a "menu" of lessons and activities for this week's learning at home. You will find the objectives: the specific skills that your child will be able to do. Then you will find a selection of lessons and activities which help your child master those skills. If you run into technical issues or other difficulties with any of these, simply move on and choose another. These activities fit into the Sample Dailly Schedule.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Your child DOES NOT have to complete all activities listed for each subject.
  • Activities have been identified to give your child choice and variety.
  • Your child's teacher may suggest other activities more appropriate for your child.

Science Objectives: Students will be able to: 

  • observe and describe local weather.
  • observe, describe, ask questions and predict seasonal weather patterns. 
  • observe and predict how weather impacts plants and animals (including humans).

Go to Clever and select the Benchmark app. Go to your inbox and click on assignments. Read or listen to the book and answer the questions.

The Seasons 


Watch the weather on your local tv station or on the Weather Channel if you have cable.  Look how the weather report is given.  Why do you think the weather report shows the weather in the future?  Have a discussion on your responses.

Look at the weather and see what predictions are for the next day.  Then check to see if the prediction was correct or not.  Have a discussion on how the weather report was accurate or not.

Offline Activities 

Active Learning: In your science journal, draw and write down what weather is like outside (Warm, hot, cool, cold, cloudy, partly cloudy, etc.). If possible, please record for 5 days straight.

Actividad: Ve afuera y en tu cuaderno/hoja, dibuja o escribe lo que observas acerca del clima (templado, caliente, frío, nublado, parcialmente nublado, etc.). Si es posible anota sus observaciones por lo menos cinco días.


Active Learning: In your science journal, draw and write down anything you notice about the trees, plants, grass, etc.  (Ex. Trees budding, flower blossoming, what are the leaves doing, etc.)  If possible please record for 5 days straight
