Grading Options for Fall Semester - Grades 6-12

As you may be aware, your student may have faced challenges during TUSD's remote learning, and their academic grades may not be reflective of their previous achievements. When you review your child's first semester report card, you may notice grade notations other than A - F, such as a P for passing or an I for incomplete.

  • P - Passing - means that your child completed the course and did receive credit. The P will not adversely affect your child's GPA (grade point average). Please note: once a grade has been changed to a P, it cannot be changed back to a letter grade. The P can either be your child's final grade OR your child may retake the class for grade replacement, providing it is offered.
  • If your child received a B - D grade and would like to request a P, please email the counselor, and copy the principal. Once your email has been received, the counselor will contact you regarding next steps. All requests must be made by January 16.
  • I - Incomplete - means your child completed some but not all of the coursework required; therefore, they will work with their teacher on which assignments are needed to complete the course. It is extremely important that your child and teacher work together during this process so that all assignments and due dates can be determined/completed in order to receive a final grade.

If you have any further questions, please contact your school's administration or counseling office. Thank you for your patience and support this semester. We look forward to partnering with you in the New Year!
