Davis has a vibrant garden program and is used frequently by classroom teachers, students, and our Extended Day staff and students. We have several volunteer University of Arizona students who help in the garden, as well as many other contributors, including some amazing parents.
We have a beautiful mesquite-covered patio, a chicken coop, an adobe oven, rainwater harvesting barrels, and many different grow beds for the classrooms and for Extended Day. We have a few citrus and fig trees, many native plants designed to attract pollinators in addition to the current season of vegetables and herbs. We welcome you to come and see our beautiful garden and to come and volunteer on one of our garden work days. These work days are a great way to connect with other Davis families and Sr. Barceló always brings his grill and a pot of beans to contribute to the feast.
Our garden has been featured in some local publications such as 2 articles in Edible Baja Arizona Magazine ( here and here).
We invite you to view some photos of our garden events (here and here).
