Our Principal

Dear Lynn Urquides Community: Welcome back Families! I look forward to seeing you and meeting our newest Coyotes. School Year 2020/2021 is set to be the most unprecedented school year. We will begin our year remotely. The staff is ready to move forward during this pandemic and focus our students in fostering relationships, learning new concepts, and creating new and fun memories with their teacher in a remote space. We hope to return to in-person learning in October. Until we return to in-person learning, please continue to practice preventive measures, including wearing a mask and social distancing, to help keep our community healthy and to best transition to our new physical space norms when that time comes. As you know, schools across the country ended the year with a pandemic for which no one could have been prepared for. We would like to thank you as parents for welcoming us into your homes virtually and for your support through the end of the 2019/2020 school year and as we prepare for our remote learning start. As educators, we left hopeful that we would return to a school full of children. Although, we would love to see all of our students’ faces in person, the safety of our students, families and staff are at the forefront of all of our decisions. We will continue to work as a team with each of you to provide a high quality education for our students. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to best prepare for the start of the year. Quarter 1 remote learning will look and feel much differently than last year’s Quarter 4 remote learning. Attendance will be taken twice each day. All absences must be reported to the office. Students will have assignments and are expected to be completed during the time that they are not on ZOOM with their teacher. Their grades will be based on the work completed and turned in to their teacher. Please know that we are planning and preparing daily for a high quality remote learning experience. You can help your child be ready for remote learning by preparing a quiet place to learn in your home. I also encourage you to post their daily schedule where it is visible. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your child’s education. Mrs. Salcido, Principal
