Threads of Community
Quarter 1

We are stepping into the exciting world of government and the special symbols that represent our country! Together, we will discover why having a government is important and how it helps us every day, like a thread weaving us together. We’ll think about how everyone, not just leaders, can make a difference in our community, showing that every voice matters in our shared story. We’ll also share our thoughts about symbols, like the flag, and what they mean to us.

Quarter 2

Next, we will explore how people, animals, and the environment work together in our communities, reminding us that we are all part of a bigger picture. We will reflect on how our actions can help or hurt the places we live, like ripples in a pond that touch other shores. Together, we will create maps of our neighborhoods and celebrate the unique things that make our community special while discovering how different places are all connected.

Bridges Across Time
Quarter 3

We then take a journey through time to uncover how our past shapes the world we live in today. We will think about important events and inventions that have made life easier for everyone, each a building block in our shared history. Together, we will share stories about our own cultures, learning how they are similar and different from others around the world, highlighting the beautiful diversity that enriches our connections.

Quarter 4

Finally, we will study how the things we make, buy, and sell tie us together like a web of relationships across the globe. We will explore the different goods and services that people create and how they help meet our needs and wants, understanding that what we do here in Tucson is part of a larger community. Together, we will look at products made right here and learn about the journey they take from producers to consumers.
