Foundations of Economic Decision Making
Quarter 1

Our understanding of the world of economics starts by understanding the roles that individuals play within our economy, such as consumers, producers, and entrepreneurs. By exploring how scarcity influences our decisions and the goods and services we choose, we will see how our individual choices as consumers contribute to the broader economy. By understanding the laws of supply and demand, we will connect the dots between the choices producers make and the broader economic landscape. Then, as we analyze concepts like profit motives and voluntary exchange, we will gain insight into the role of incentives in creating a thriving market.

Navigating an Interconnected Future
Quarter 2

We will deepen our economic understanding by navigating the complexities of macroeconomics, global economics, and personal finance. We will unravel the workings of money and banking, the Federal Reserve System, and the impact of inflation, recognizing how these systems influence our daily lives. We will place ourselves into the role of policymakers as we discuss taxation and fiscal policy. We will also examine the dynamics and interconnectedness of global trade. Finally, we will reflect on our roles as investors, both in the markets and our personal growth, as we strive to be financially responsible and economically secure individuals.
