The space-themed Glow Gallery at Erickson Elementary was a highlight of this year’s annual OMA Art Show.
Produced by OMA Visual Arts teacher, Isobel Suhm and featuring artwork from Kindergarten through 5th grade, the exhibit showcased the creativity and learning of every student. Each project was intentionally designed with both visual arts standards and core curriculum standards in mind, ensuring a balanced integration of artistic expression and academic learning unique to each grade level.
Using fluorescent materials including special paint, oil pastels, and model magic clay, students created radiant space-inspired art that came to life under black light. From glowing rockets to imaginative aliens and shooting stars, an empty classroom was magically transformed into an immersive space experience.
This special room was just one part of the larger celebration of the arts at Erickson and reflected the vibrant spirit of OMA across our school community.
