Kindergarten Science Course
How do living things and materials interact with their environment to grow, change, and serve different purposes?
-
What do animals need to live and grow?
-
What causes objects to move in certain ways?
-
How do trees change through the seasons? What is weather, where does it happen, and how does it affect us?
We develop an understanding that the world is comprised of living and non-living things. We investigate the relationship between structure and function in living things through observations of living animals. We will also look for patterns in what animals need to survive and how specialized parts help animals meet their needs.

We investigate the effects of different forces on the motion of an object. We investigate wood, fabric, and paper and use our knowledge of the properties of materials to engineer solutions to meet human problems. We also investigate ways to reduce human impacts on local environments.

We develop an understanding of patterns to understand changes in local weather, seasonal cycles, and daylight. We explore how technology can be used to extend our senses while we observe and forecast weather conditions. We look for patterns as we learn what trees need to survive and how trees can change our environment.

We are here to equip, inspire and enrich the strengths of all learners with relevant educational experiences for lifelong learning.
Every day we strive to provide a world-class education that is equitable, empowering and inspiring for all.
