Mes de la Cultura Art Contest Winners

Three Tucson Unified students are among the winners of the Mes de la Cultura Art Contest, sponsored by Mexican American Student Services and the University of Arizona.

Students from across Southern Arizona were invited to submit artwork fitting one of the contest themes:

  1. What does being Mexican American/Latinx mean to you?
  2. How do you honor your Mexican American/Latinx heritage?
White Elementary School 2nd grader Aranza Valdez Haro is the winner of the K-2 level, Pistor Middle School 7th grader David Michelangelo Aviles won for grades 6-8 and Tucson High Magnet School freshman Kenia Valencia Alvarado is the high school winner.
