Santa Rita Diesel Teacher
Gilbert Ochoa came to teaching after serving in the military, where he worked on aircraft and spent a lot of time mentoring young airmen. Arizona’s Troops to Educators program helped him move into the classroom by translating his military performance reports into a Career and Technical Education teaching certificate. When the Diesel Engine Repair position opened at Santa Rita, he knew it was a good opportunity to continue helping young people build real skills.
